45 Books To Read If You Liked One Of Us Is Lying (Or Anything Else by Karen M. McManus)

I LOVED this series (books and show) and am so sad it was cancelled. I also spoiled the books for myself accidentally and will never be able to forget the ending but I do want to re-read these.

I really liked this one (I love all Sara Shepard though) and know I read the second one, too but I cannot remember what happens so I’ll need to reread these, too. Maybe I’ll have a Sara Shepard summer.

At first Ava, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Julie, and Parker think they have nothing in common but it turns out they all hate Nolan and come up with the perfect plan to murder him. Jokingly, of course. But when he shows up dead in the way they talked about, they become the prime suspects,

She doesn’t seem the same as the one Nico knew. Her retrograde amnesia has caused her to forget almost everything about her life including where she’s been the last four years and the day she vanished.

As the days go by, it becomes clear to Nico that more than one person knows what really happened to Sarah.

Everyone thinks they know what happened when Tabby came out of the woods but Mark didn’t. Some say she pushed him off a cliff even though she doesn’t like hiking. Some say it was an accident, that she loved him and would never hurt him, even if he hurt her.

This one sounds really interesting because it’s told from everyone but Tabby’s perspective as the people from her town string the events together.

Trixie left a party one night and walked into the ocean. Fiona says she doesn’t remember anything but she believes Trixie isn’t really dead.

The trail of clues leads her to Beau and Jasper, Trixie’s friend with benefits who turned Fiona down and may be happy Trixie isn’t around anymore.

The closer she gets to Beau and Jasper, the more she learns her friend may not have been who she thought and that she may have wanted to disappear the whole time.

There may be skeletons in Kay Donovan’s closet but she’s put that behind her and has reinvented herself. Now she runs her private school as the star of the soccer team with effortlessly popularity. This all changes when she find’s a dead girl in the lake on campus.

The dead girl left a computer-coded scavenger hunt/revenge blog that begins to unravel her life and the lives of her friends. But, backed into a corner, she’ll do what she needs to survive.

Kacey is the new girl in Broken Falls after moving in with her dad and starting a new life that is surprisingly charming, especially compared to her old life.

She even has close friends, Jade and Bailey, now but they start acting distant and weird, not inviting her to the biggest party of he year. She can’t even ask Bailey about it because she never made it home from the party. Now Broken Falls isn’t so welcoming and everyone is looking to her for answers.

I read this one in February and I liked it but I liked The Cheerleaders more and can’t wait for That Weekend.

This sounds a little bit like Saw but teens at a scholarship dinner. This is also the most similar book to One of Us is Lying on the list because it’s also a locked-room mystery.

Six students with nothing in common are invited to a scholarship dinner where they’re locked in with a bomb and syringe filled with poison. They have to choose one to kill or they all die.

They go over the last year to see how they’re all connected and who may want them dead. It’s clear everyone is hiding something but time is running out as they decide who dies.

Ellery has never been to Echo Ridge but she knows all about it since her aunt went missing there when she was 17. Then five years ago a homecoming queen was killed there. And now she and her brother are moving there to live with a grandmother they barely know.

Upon arrival, it’s promised that the homecoming season will be as dangerous as it was five years ago. Or worse.

Pippa Fitz-Amobi’s senior capstone project starts out as an examination of the Andie Bell murder case but quickly turns into a full investigation with the supposed murderers brother who wants to help clear his brother, Sal’s, name.

Things start out innocent enough but quickly go downhill when someone in Fairview decides they don’t want her digging anymore. Now their lives are in danger but they’re determined to get to the bottom of everything.

I read this one in February and LOVED it!

I read this one in April and I liked it enough but I also liked Two Can Keep a Secret more.

This is the only one on the list that I’ve read and didn’t like that much. It’s not bad but it wasn’t my favorite.

This one is really similar to One of Us is Lying but in a mansion instead of detention.

I am so excited for this one!

Everyone knows the Ivies, the coveted universities, but not everyone knows the Ivies, the five girls at Cafflin Academy that will do whatever it takes to get into the Ivy League.

They disrupt class ranks improve their own odds by decreasing the chances of others. The competitive college admissions process is serious business. And even sometimes deadly.

This is another one I am SO excited for. I’ve wanted to read this one for a while though but keep forgetting about it.

Hope is sick of being treated like she’s breakable just because she has cystic fibrosis. She’s sick of being babied by her mom and over protective best friend, Ethan. She’s worried about how to pay for her expensive medicine. And she’s bored with her life in her run-down New Orleans suburb.

So when an invitation from a group called the Society arrives, she jumps at the chance for a ticket out. She just has to do some dares to earn some real money but soon she finds out the game isn’t a choice. It’s a requirement.

This one also kind of sounds like NEED, but a little different.

I read this one in May and I really liked it!

First, two girls were killed in a car accident, then two were murdered by their neighbor, and the fifth committed suicide. After this, the Sunnybrook cheer squad was disbanded.

Five years later, the students and staff want to remember the cheerleaders, but not Monica. She just wants to forget, but when she finds mysterious letters in her stepfather’s desk along with her dead sister’s cell phone, she has to get to the bottom of what really happened five years ago.

Good Reads even says this is the perfect book like One of Us is Lying (and A Good Girls Guide to Murder which is amazing.)
