LOOKING FOR THE ULTIMATE TRAVEL THEMED READING CHALLENGE?
We’re back with another reading challenge today, and this time it’s the ultimate travel reading challenge! This isn’t a one book for every country type challenge, but just a general travel themed reading challenge.
With this reading challenge you’ll visit all seven continents, take a cruise, go on a road trip, do some long distance hiking, and so much more.
This challenge is a fun way to see the world without leaving the comfort of your home. Or to keep you excited about future travels you might have!
There is no entry requirement or prize for participating so you can do this at your own pace. There are 25 prompts which works out to almost one book a week (with two weeks off) for a year but like I said, there is no time limit for this.
I would like to note, the majority (if not all of) the nonfiction I’ve suggested is all travel and adventure memoirs to really lean into the travel theme of the reading challenge. But of course you’re welcome to find something more suited to your tastes if this doesn’t do it for you.
I tried to include some variety in the genres for the fiction prompts. This is a nonfiction heavy challenge though, at least in my head.
Feel free to share your progress with the templates below, and tag me when you do! I love seeing the books everyone decides to go with. I’ve given suggestions for each prompt but you’re welcome to choose anything you like that fits.

- Thrift Books is one of the places I check when I’m looking for a book (old ones especially) and want it cheap. It’s great if you like buying used books. With this you can get a free book after spending $30!
- Pango is one of my go-to’s for finding secondhand books affordably, sold by other readers! If you’re a new user, you can use HEYIMREADING at checkout for $5 off your first $10 purchase! Check out Pango Books here!
- Libro.fm is the best for buying audiobooks AND supporting your local bookstore. Use code SWITCH to get two free credits (three total) when you sign up for a one-credit membership! Sign up for Libro.fm here!
- If you want to listen to some of these, consider trying Audible! You can get your first month free (one free book). Get that Audible deal here.
- If you want to read more on your Kindle but don’t want to buy books, Kindle Unlimited is a good option, especially if you read a lot of indie authors. Get Kindle Unlimited here!
- Shop my book lists here! You can find every book list I have on Bookshop.org (except my monthly round-ups) and I add everything I can but they occasionally won’t have some. I do occasionally add extras though. If any lists are empty, they’ll be filled in..eventually! Shop my bookshop.org book lists here.
