We’re back with another book tag that I wasn’t tagged in today! I haven’t done one of these since the mid-year freakout tag last June so I figured we’re overdue.
And today it’s the Reader Problems Book Tag which I found from The Book Nut, linked below. II figured this would be a good one for today since I was just thinking about how massive my physical and Kindle TBRs actually are.
In case you’re wondering how much there is between them, easily 700 books, if not more. I had a major Kindle Deal phase a few years ago but in my defense they had a lot of really great books each week that summer.
I’ve cooled it on that and my physical book buying lately though so hopefully I’ll be able to make my way through a lot of them this year. Anyway, onto the Reader Problem book tag!

- If you want to listen to some of these, consider trying Audible! You can get your first month free (one free book) plus tons of others they have for free. Get that Audible deal here.
- If you’re on more of a budget, try Scribd! You can get your first month free there. You can read books and listen to audiobooks. It is unlimited (especially the reading) but if you listen to tons of new audiobooks you may be restricted after a few. I don’t listen to enough to confirm this, but I do use Scribd myself and like it a lot. Sign up for Scribd here!
- Shop my collection of bookish goodies on Etsy! These aren’t my shop items, but other shops I’ve curated into a book-themed collection. Shop my Etsy bookish goodies here!
- If you want to read more on your Kindle but don’t want to buy books, Kindle Unlimited is a wonderful option. It’s $9.99 a month but if you read a lot and like to read more than just new releases, it could be worth it. Get Kindle Unlimited here!
- Get $5 off of $25 from BookOutlet! This is a great place to find new books for pretty cheap. They also have sales quite a bit, so keep an eye out for those. I tend to check here for books I want if they’re more expensive other places. They don’t have everything but they do have a lot. Shop BookOutlet here!
- Thrift Books has become my go-to when I’m looking for a book and want it cheap. It’s great if you like buying used books. With this you can get a free book after spending $30!
- Shop my book lists here! You can find every book list I have on Bookshop.org (except my monthly round-ups) and I add everything I can but they occasionally won’t have some. I do occasionally add extras though. If any lists are empty, they’ll be filled in shortly! Shop my bookshop.org book lists here.
You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?
I’m a mood reader so whatever I’m in the mood for. Sometimes it’s more of what I just read. Sometimes it’s the opposite of what I read.
Sometimes it’s something unrelated but something mentioned in the book I just read made me want to read it. If that makes sense. Basically whatever tickles my fancy at the moment.
You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
If I hate it and it’s boring, I DNF. If I hate it but its still really entertaining and fast paced, I’ll finish because it’s fun (see, Riley Sager. Sorry). As long as I’m having fun not liking something, I’ll keep going but if it’s boring and dragging, well, BYE.

The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
If I’m really far off, I’d just accept the L, but if I’m like, 5-10 away I might try and read some short books or like, Magic Tree House or Mary-Kate and Ashley mysteries. But even then, I might just accept the L. It depends on how much time I have, too.
The covers of a series you love do not match, how do you cope?
Three years ago I would have said I wouldn’t have that, but now I don’t care. I actually like when they don’t match now and it makes finding books I want in the wild a lot easier.
That said, if there is a cover on one edition I prefer, I’ll try to get that one instead if I can. The Girl and The Tiger by Paul Rosolie is a good example of this.
I absolutely LOVE the Indian edition cover but the other one is just OK. I’ll try to get the version I like somehow but if I can’t, then I can’t. It make book buying less stressful, too.
Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
Myself? The Internet? Whoever happens to be around me at that moment? The first person who sees me next?

You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
I guess just go for it? I don’t think I could stop reading to leave if it was that intense? I cried at the most crowded Starbucks I’ve ever been (for real, there had to be at least 40 people in there) to so I’m sure I would be fine.
The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Probably. I read the first two Aurora Cycle books but haven’t read the third yet and I plan to reread them because I don’t remember anything from them. But I did love them!
If it was a really long series, probably not. Like, the Dreams & Reality series by Hadena James is one of my favorites but it’s up to 19 books. I have three, may four, I didn’t read yet so I’ll reread all of them to catch up and get refreshed.
I won’t reread the whole thing after each new book though. Maybe I’ll save it for every four new ones or something like that. Who knows.
You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
If I’ve read it, I’d probably just let them borrow it, tell them as long as I get it back, then never expect it back. If I haven’t read it, I’d say after I read it then hope they forget.

You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Keep doing that until something sticks. Or just not read until I feel like reading. That’s basically what I did in March/the beginning of April. Forcing myself to try reading if I don’t feel like it won’t work for me, I know that.
It’s weird though, usually when I’m in a reading slump it’s only for physical books. I still like reading on my Kindle before bed.
There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
Probably none because I don’t usually get new releases. I tend to just read them whenever I find them at a library book sale, on a Kindle deal, or in a Little Free Library.
After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
One week to years? It definitely depends on what I’m currently reading and my mood after that. I won’t stop what I’m reading to start what I just got even if I really want to read it because I obviously want to read what I’m currently reading.
Then when I finish it I might not be in the mood for what I just got. It’s silly but what can ya do? I can’t force myself to read something I’m not in the mood for or I’ll end up in a slump.

Reader Problems Book Tag prompts
Now, because i hate having to type up all the book tag questions again, I like to include them in a convenient list at the end for you to copy/paste if you want to go it. And if you do, I would love to see your post!
