You’re not going to find the typical haunted house books on this list, like The Shining or We Have Always Lived in the Castle because everyone already knows those. And if you don’t, now you do!

I want to focus on other haunted house books more though and let me tell you, there are a lot. I’ve read a few of these but have added soooo many more to my TBR as I wrote this (which is pretty typical).

So, here are enough haunted house books to keep you busy for months, even years depending on how much you read and assuming you mix up what you’re reading. They’re perfect to read in October, but also great if you just want to get a little scared.

If you’re interested in trying Audible, you can get your first month free which includes a free audiobook!  This is a great option if you want to listen to books more.  If you’re on more of a budget, try Scribd!  You can get your first month free there.
